Blaupunkt 50UGC5500 — a 50-inch 4K television running Google TV

The Blaupunkt 50UGC5500 is the middle model of the range: 50 inches at 4K Ultra HD, the right size for a living room with a viewing distance of about 2 to 2.5 metres. It runs Google TV, so Netflix, YouTube and the rest install directly on the set.

Between 43 and 50 inches: what changes

Against the 43-inch model in the same range, the picture area grows by roughly 35% at the same 4K resolution. That means a larger image with no loss of detail, as long as you keep a viewing distance of at least two metres. Both models share the same Google TV system and the same tuner.

The apps live on the television

Google TV brings the app store, voice search and recommendations into one interface, with Netflix, YouTube and Google Play preinstalled. The internet connects over Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth pairs a remote, headphones or a wireless speaker.

TV reception from any source

The tuner covers DVB-T, DVB-T2, DVB-C, DVB-S and DVB-S2, so it works on terrestrial aerial, cable or satellite with no extra receiver. The Common Interface CI/CI+ slot takes an operator card directly in the set.

Întrebări frecvente

Which screen size should I choose from the Blaupunkt UGC5500 range?
The 50-inch model suits a living room with a 2 to 2.5 metre viewing distance, while the 43-inch fits smaller rooms or a study. Both share the same 4K Ultra HD resolution, the same Google TV and the same tuner, so the difference is purely size. The 32-inch set in the same family, the WGC5500, is HD Ready rather than 4K.
Does the Blaupunkt 50UGC5500 come with Netflix and YouTube preinstalled?
Yes. The television runs Google TV and ships with Netflix, YouTube and Google Play installed. Everything else installs straight from the Google Play store, with no separate streaming device. Internet connects over Wi-Fi.
What tuner does the Blaupunkt 50UGC5500 have, and do I need a separate receiver?
The tuner covers DVB-T, DVB-T2, DVB-C, DVB-S and DVB-S2, so it works on terrestrial aerial, cable or satellite with no extra receiver. The Common Interface CI/CI+ slot takes an operator card directly in the set. For services that need their own set-top box, it connects over HDMI.
How much space do I need for a 50-inch television?
A 50-inch television is about 1.1 metres wide, so the cabinet should be at least 1.2 metres. The recommended viewing distance is 2 to 2.5 metres: closer than that and the eye starts to resolve the image structure even at 4K. If space is tighter, the 43-inch model in the same range is the better fit.
