Xiaomi Redmi A5 phone | 6.88-inch 120 Hz display and 5200 mAh battery

The Xiaomi Redmi A5 is the entry-level phone in the Redmi range, designed for anyone who needs a simple, large device that lasts a day of use. It has a 6.88-inch screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a Unisoc T7250 processor and a 5200 mAh battery. It is a logical choice as a first phone or as a second device.

6.88-inch screen with 120 Hz

The 6.88-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels gives plenty of room for messages, clips and browsing. The 120 Hz rate is unusual at this price level and makes scrolling through lists and social media more pleasant than on a 60 Hz panel. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 stands up well to pocket scratches.

Unisoc T7250 on 12 nm

The Unisoc T7250 processor has eight cores: two Cortex-A75 at 1.8 GHz and six Cortex-A55 at 1.6 GHz. Together with 4 GB of RAM, it handles calls, messaging, browsing, maps and simple games. The 128 GB of internal storage is enough for apps and a decent collection of photos.

5200 mAh battery

The 5200 mAh battery is larger than the usual 5000 mAh in this segment and, combined with an economical processor and a moderate-resolution screen, comfortably lasts more than a day of use. Charging is 15 W.

32 MP camera and quick unlocking

The 32 MP main camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles everyday photos and documents, together with an auxiliary lens. The 8 MP front camera is enough for video calls. Unlocking is via a side-mounted fingerprint sensor or face recognition, and the phone takes two nano-SIM cards.

Întrebări frecvente

What does it mean that the Redmi A5 runs Android Go Edition?

Go Edition is a version of Android tuned for phones with less memory: the system apps are lighter and use less RAM. On this model, with 4 GB of RAM, that helps day-to-day smoothness. Some apps come in Go variants, simpler than their full versions.

Is a charger included with the Redmi A5?

No, the wall adapter is not in the box and is sold separately. The Li-Polymer battery holds 5200 mAh and charging over USB Type-C reaches 15 W. If you do not already own a compatible charger, factor in that extra cost.

Can a memory card be added to the Redmi A5?

Yes, it has a dedicated microSDXC slot, so you can use two nano-SIM cards and the card at the same time. Internal storage is 128 GB with 4 GB of RAM. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

What screen and camera does the Redmi A5 have?

It has a 6.88-inch IPS LCD with a 720 x 1640 resolution, 260 ppi and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The main camera is 32 MP at f/2.0 alongside an auxiliary lens, and the front camera is 8 MP. The phone has no NFC, so it cannot be used for contactless payments.
