Samsung Galaxy Fold Ultra 12 GB / 512 GB, Green Shadow

The Samsung Galaxy Fold Ultra in Green Shadow, a dark green, has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Samsung also makes it with 256 GB, and with 1 TB and 16 GB of RAM. Open, the phone has an 8-inch screen; closed, you use the 6.5-inch cover display. The main camera on the back has 200 MP.

8-inch inner display, 6.5-inch cover display

Opened, the phone gives you an 8-inch Foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X panel at 2256 x 2504 with up to 3000 nits peak brightness. Closed, you use the 6.5-inch cover display at 1080 x 2520, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. Both screens reach 120 Hz, and LTPO lowers the rate when the picture is still, to save power.

Three rear cameras, one front camera on each screen

The main camera has 200 MP, an f/1.7 aperture and optical stabilisation. The 10 MP telephoto adds 3x optical zoom, also stabilised, and the ultra wide has 50 MP. Each screen has its own 10 MP camera for selfies and video calls. Video goes up to 8K at 30 fps and 4K at 120 fps.

12 GB RAM and 512 GB of storage

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is built on 3 nm, with eight cores at up to 4.74 GHz and Adreno 840 graphics. It has 12 GB of RAM, the same as the 256 GB version; only the 1 TB version gets 16 GB. There is no microSD slot, so the 512 GB is all the room for apps, photos and 8K video. With Samsung DeX, the phone connected to a monitor works like a desktop computer.

5000 mAh battery, 45 W wired

The silicon-carbon battery holds 5000 mAh (typical), and Samsung quotes up to 27 hours of video playback. It charges at 45 W by cable, about 67% in 30 minutes, and at 20 W wirelessly over Qi2.2. 4.5 W reverse wireless charging tops up earbuds or a watch. The charger is sold separately.

Slim build and connectivity

It is 4.1 mm thick unfolded and 8.9 mm folded, and weighs 215 g. The frame is aluminium and the back is Gorilla Glass Victus 2; the IP48 rating covers immersion in fresh water but not fine dust. It has 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, UWB, NFC and USB Type-C 3.2. It ships with Android 17 and One UI 9, with security updates until July 2033.

What displays does the Samsung Galaxy Fold Ultra have?

It has two displays. The inner one, which unfolds, is an 8-inch Foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X at 2256 x 2504 with 3000 nits peak brightness. The cover display is 6.5 inches at 1080 x 2520, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. Both run at 120 Hz, and LTPO lowers the refresh rate on static content to save battery.

How resistant is the Galaxy Fold Ultra to dust and water?

It is IP48 rated: it withstands immersion in fresh water to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes under laboratory conditions. The 4 refers to dust and means protection only against particles larger than 1 mm, not fine dust — a limitation specific to foldables because of the hinge. The frame is aluminium and the back is covered in Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

What cameras does the Galaxy Fold Ultra have?

The back has three modules: a 200 MP main at f/1.7 with optical stabilisation, a 10 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and stabilisation, and a 50 MP ultra wide with autofocus. There are two 10 MP front cameras, one per screen, so you can take selfies both folded and unfolded. Video reaches 8K at 30 fps and 4K at 120 fps, with HDR10+.

How long does the Galaxy Fold Ultra battery last and how fast does it charge?

The silicon-carbon battery holds 5000 mAh, notable for a phone just 4.1 mm thick when unfolded. Wired charging over USB Type-C is 45 W and reaches 67% in about 30 minutes; wireless runs at 20 W over Qi2.2. The phone can also top up other devices through 4.5 W reverse wireless charging.
