Microsoft Xbox Series S Quad-HD /1Tb / White

Microsoft Xbox Series S games console | 1440p at up to 120 FPS, Ray Tracing and NVMe SSD

The Microsoft Xbox Series S is the new-generation console designed for those who want modern performance without the price of a top-end console. It renders games natively at 1440p, with upscaling to 4K, can reach 120 FPS and supports Ray Tracing — technologies that until recently were reserved for premium consoles. This is an All-Digital edition, with no optical drive, in the Robot White colour option.

1440p with 4K upscaling and up to 120 FPS

The native 1440p (QHD) resolution is the choice that makes the difference: instead of forcing native 4K, the console renders at a lighter resolution and upscales, leaving headroom for high frame rates — up to 120 FPS. Auto Low Latency Mode, Variable Refresh Rate, HDR10 and Dolby Vision are supported.

8-core Zen 2 processor and RDNA 2 graphics

The custom Zen 2 processor has eight cores at 3.6 GHz (3.4 GHz with SMT enabled), while the graphics are a custom 4 TFLOPS RDNA 2 solution with 20 compute units at 1.565 GHz. The same architecture underpins the generation's top consoles, which means compatibility with the same rendering technologies, including Ray Tracing.

Fast NVMe SSD and expandable storage

The internal drive is a custom NVMe SSD with 2.4 GB/s raw I/O throughput, which dramatically shortens loading screens compared with hard-disk consoles. When space gets tight, there is a dedicated slot for a Seagate or Western Digital expansion card, plus support for external HDDs and SSDs via USB 3.1.

Connectivity and memory

The console has 10 GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit interface, an HDMI 2.1 output, three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and a gigabit Ethernet port for stable online play. As it is All-Digital, games are bought and downloaded — worth bearing in mind if you already have a collection on disc.
